SNAP Info - November 2025

Avoid Scams

  • No one from SNAP will ever call or text you to ask for your card number, PIN, or personal information.
  • Do not share your EBT card number or PIN with anyone, not even if they claim to be from the government.
  • Do not pay for help – You should never have to pay to apply for or get help with your SNAP benefits.
  • Do not click links on social media, the internet, or your email. Go directly to trusted websites – co.gov/PEAK
  • Report suspicious calls or messages immediately to your local Department of Human Services office.

Receiving Benefits

  • Continue to apply and recertify – counties are continuing to process paperwork so you will be ready to receive benefits as soon as funding is available.
  • Change your PIN often – especially if you think your card might have been skimmed or stolen.
  • Check your balance only through official channels – EBTEdge app, ebtedge.com, or 1-888-328-2656.
  • Find other forms of food assistance locally.

How to Help

  • Donate money directly to area food banks. A dollar goes further than a can. Food banks can stretch $1 into nearly $6 of food, or about three full meals, by buying at wholesale prices and in bulk.
  • Donate food to your local pantry or food bank.
    • Canned tuna & chicken
    • Low-sodium nuts
    • Chili & soups
    • Quinoa
    • Oats/Oatmeal
    • All-purpose flour
    • Maseca (masa) flour
    • Brown and/or white rice
    • Fruit canned in 100% juice
    • Low-sodium canned vegetables
    • Cereal with whole grains and low-sugar
    • Canned low-sodium black, kidney, pinto, and white beans
    • Canned or boxed meals & “meal-makers”
    • Shelf-stable milk, powdered milk, or milk alternatives (almond, coconut, oat, etc.)
  • Volunteer during a food drive or at a food pantry in your area.
