Local Food Local Places|Empowering Leaders Through Communication and Facilitation-Empoderando Líderes a Través de la Comunicación y Facilitación
The Empowering Leaders: Communication, Facilitation & Presenting seminar, presented by Lee Shainis and hosted by Local Foods Local Places, brought a full house to the Ski Hi Complex in Monte Vista! Participants from all kinds of organizations gathered to sharpen their skills in making communication clearer, more engaging, and more inclusive. The morning session focused on simplifying language—helping people write and speak so everyone understands quickly. Attendees learned how to improve trust, reduce unnecessary writing, and even use AI to make communication more efficient and accessible.
The afternoon session was all about leading great meetings, workshops, and presentations. Speakers shared ways to keep an audience engaged every three minutes, handle tough questions with confidence, and communicate big ideas in just a few seconds or a full presentation. Attendees also gained tools to create smoother, more effective meetings with clear goals and participation from everyone.
The energy in the room was electric, and participants left inspired to bring these new skills back to their teams. By focusing on clear communication and strong facilitation, leaders in our community can build stronger connections, make meetings more productive, and create more inclusive spaces for everyone’s voices to be heard!
El seminario Empoderando Líderes: Comunicación, Facilitación y Presentación, organizado por Local Foods Local Places, reunió a una gran cantidad de participantes en el Complejo Ski Hi en Monte Vista. Personas de diversas organizaciones se unieron para mejorar sus habilidades y hacer que su comunicación fuera más clara, atractiva e inclusiva. La sesión de la mañana se centró en simplificar el lenguaje, ayudando a los asistentes a escribir y hablar de manera que todos comprendan rápidamente. Aprendieron cómo mejorar la confianza, reducir la escritura innecesaria y utilizar la inteligencia artificial (IA) para hacer la comunicación más eficiente y accesible.
